Commonly Asked Questions
What is an STL?
We allow for modifications during the 3D design process. We understand things do not always come out perfect on the first attempt so we will perform additional modifications if needed. Once the design is approved, any changes will require additional cost based on the time required to perform the modification.
How is an .OBJ file different from STL?
An .OBJ file can store textures and surface details, while STL files only store the shape of the object. This makes OBJ better for detailed 3D designs, while STL is simpler and ideal for 3D printing.
Do we store your .OBJ file?
No, we do not store your .OBJ file on our servers. Your files are processed securely and deleted within a few hours after conversion.
How does the conversion work?
Our tool takes your .OBJ file and converts it into an STL file. It reads the shape and details from the OBJ file and saves them in the STL format, which is simpler and widely used for 3D printing. The process is fast and easy!
What is an .OBJ file?
An .OBJ file is a type of 3D model file. It contains information about the shape, textures, and surfaces of a 3D object. It’s commonly used for 3D modeling and animation.
My conversion failed. What Now?
Some models you find on sites like Thingiverse may not contain any geometry data meaning they are not able to be 3D Printed. These files are not convertible to STLs. Reach out to support@intagly.com with your file for more help.
How Can I get my model 3D Printed?
We have a custom quote tool for 3D printing. Click the button to get an instant quote on your file.
